EMS Aid/FireAid

What We Do

Our trucks travel through the entire lower 48 states picking up Fire and EMS equipment and material. The donation is brought to our refurbishment building where we triage it into two categories; those that can be reused, and those that need to be recycled.

Reuse

If a piece of equipment or apparatus can be reused, we decontaminate it as necessary, and repair it as needed to ensure that it is both functional and viable. When the decontamination and repair is complete, we then donate the equipment to fire departments and EMS squads in need.

Recycle

If a piece of equipment or apparatus cannot be reused, all usable parts are salvaged and placed into the appropriate "link" of the recycle chain.

Parts from severely damaged apparatus are salvaged and can be used to repair apparatus still in working order. When there are no longer usable parts, the remaining apparatus is taken to a recycling center to be melted.

By recycling virtually everything, FireAid/EMSAid is able to supplement its income to further its charitable work. Outdated breathing apparatus cylinders are recycled and turned into cash to assist us in what we do - help fire and ems departments in need.
